Executive Creative Director, Product Portfolio

We are looking for an Executive Creative Director (ECD) to lead the creative team and be the creative north star for a product portfolio. A product portfolio ECD will direct the strategy, development, innovation, execution, and production of creative assets across the consumer journey. They will partner closely with marketing and product leads to understand business goals and consumer needs and then craft the creative strategy to deliver results and make the Capital One brand easy to remember and easy to choose.

What you’ll do

  • Use your impressive industry expertise.

    • Provide creative oversight, guidance and direction for the creative strategies, interpretations, and manifestations of the Capital One Brand across a product portfolio or business area.  

    • Serve as the voice of what on-brand, effective creative means and looks like at Capital One.

    • Consistently evaluate the industry and beyond to ensure the delivery of leading edge, relevant and impactful brand elements and creative approaches.

    • Identify, address and incorporate emerging trends into strategic direction using industry best practices and your strong digital and traditional background.

  • Lead among leaders.

    • Partner with senior business leaders to creatively define how the brand will show up across our business areas, audiences and segments - and provide a plan of action and guidance on how to best execute the work to achieve both business results and brand consistency.

    • Partner with other Executive Creative Directors to guide, manage and elevate the overall creative output of the department. 

    • Influence across partners and senior leaders using your impressive presentation skills to push forward comprehensive evidence-based concepts and strategies.

  • Wear many hats - creative leader, general manager, strategist, operations lead, and innovator. 

    • Identify and develop world-class emerging creative talent and leaders.

    • Work with a diverse, talented team that is doing breakthrough, consumer driven creative work.

    • Proactively remove barriers and overcome adversity to make it easier to get work done.

    • Anticipate the future needs of the brand and proactively evolve our look and feel to meet the needs of our business partners and customers.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or military experience.

  • At least 10 years of experience leading creative development teams

Preferred Qualifications

  • At least 10 years of experience leading and directing large, multi-discipline creative teams.

  • At least 8 years of digital or mobile campaign experience at an Advertising Agency, Studio Agency or Corporate in house creative team.

  • At least 3 years leading an in-house creative team. 

  • Direct management of a creative team of 15+ people.

  • Creative portfolio that includes produced work for large, integrated marketing campaigns.

  • Direct experience leading creative development for a large Brand.
