Overview and Responsibilities
MTV International is looking for a Senior Digital Producer to join the team in NYC. This role is ideal for a music-obsessed creator and comes with the opportunity to work on one-of-a-kind global events such as the MTV EMA and iconic music franchises such as MTV Unplugged. The ideal candidate must have an affinity for music as well as a love of all things trending across the internet, as well as a wide range of production experience from social short-form to live production. This is a hands-on creative role. Please submit samples of social video to be considered.
Acts as lead digital producer on projects, as assigned by the VP
Handles day-to-day digital/social video production, deliverables and edits (mix of text, graphics, photos, animations, emojis and everything in-between)
Comes up with creative ideas and produces digital and social content for multiple markets (including hands-on producing, budgeting, scripting, production team management, rights & clearances and post-production supervision)
Possesses deep understanding of social platforms and algorithms that affect day-to-day publishing and content strategy including how to optimize video with metadata and stills
Writes, pitches and revises creative video treatments
Collaborates with larger team on creation of content publishing plans while evaluating audience consumption
Implements various video aspects of the digital content strategy as it relates to music and events
Handles day-to-day tentpole digital video production and edits within multi-platform environment
Handles complicated live event production across multiple social accounts and global environment (multi-account streaming)
Partners with global teams to develop compelling creative for social platforms in support of music programming
Ensures consistent video content and quality, helping produce the best content possible within a set framework (budget, availability of resources and schedule)
Ensures efforts address localization for our markets and understands how to create video templates as well as localize content directly
Basic Qualifications
Candidate must have at least 6+ years of experience in digital content development and production, ideally in music and events
A deep understanding of creating video for digital platforms and story-telling for social platforms, including Youtube, Instagram, Instagram Stories, Facebook, Snapchat etc.
Must have demonstrated experience with vertical video production
Expert knowledge of YouTube (Premieres, Live, ContentID etc.)
Experience working with high-profile talent, as well as social influencers
Solid experience in live streaming production
Extensive knowledge of the technical areas of digital production, including cameras and edit systems
Additional Qualifications
Bachelor's degree
A self-motivated all-rounder; confident shooting for broadcast, directing talent, researching and writing scripts
Creative problem solver – enjoys generating innovative ideas and solutions, devising new and exciting ways to engage audiences
The ability to take on assignments/projects and follow through until completion is critical
Ability and willingness to edit is desired
Experience in an international environment is desired
Able to speak another European language an advantage
A calm and diplomatic approach to working with multiple cultures and personalities, particularly in times of stress
